I want to start sharing progress from our current home, but when thinking about future design projects, I couldn’t help but reflect on past ones, with my sunroom office update for One Room Challenge in Spring 2021 being the first time I took a design from conception to execution. So here is the before of the office, the thought process and the mood board for the design! You can see the final design here and room reveal here!
The Before
At the beginning of lockdown, I thankfully already had an IKEA desk and chair I used in past apartments as my office furniture, so it has served as a great office. But, spending many of my waking hours each week in that spot, I have realized that the IKEA dining chair is not the right height for the desk, and I also am wanting it to work a little hard for us since we don’t have much space in the apartment and am looking to it to be more of a sitting room on the weekend like we originally used it as, so I am redesigning it and so so excited! Here is the current desk/chair situation.
The Inspiration
I would love to incorporate a bistro table to give the option of a sitting room or coffee spot on the weekends, add some (muted) color and bring in some cane (because my heart forever beats for anything caned!). Check out the inspiration for the office below!
