I want this monthly inspiration post to be a curation of a variety of sources of inspiration. January’s inspiration is especially fun and meaningful to be the first one because of the newness that comes with the month of January. The first month of the year represents a clean slate, and I can’t wait to keep exploring my interior styling, designing and finding places/things/people that inspire me. Here are some things that are upping my inspiration this month!
Listening
Cannot Be, Whatsoever by Novo Amor
This album is several years old, but Novo Armor feels like the right background music for winter. I heard their song “Halloween” through another playlist this fall and fell in love with their style music, so am soaking up all their latest.
Reading
The Established Home by Jean Stoffer
Authored by the well known designer Jean Stoffer of Jean Stoffer Design, I finished The Established Home book within four days of picking it up, and as a very casual reader, this was a record for me! Since becoming a mom, listening to audio books is the only way I’ve been reading so it was extra fun to have Jean be the one reading her own book. This book goes through her career as a self-made designer, the trials and successes of being a business owner and the wisdom she has gained from being a mother, all topics that I am very interested lately and soaked in her expertise in! It feels like you are sitting across from Jean drinking coffee in The Bradbury – if you are interested in design, I highly recommend this book.
Watching
Gwenyth Paltrow’s Architectural Digest Tour
You know how some people have their comfort shows that they have watched 1,000s of times and can quote? That is how I feel about Architectural Digest’s Open Door series. I have seen most all of them at least twice and my all time favorite right now is Gwenyth Paltrow’s home tour. That kitchen is pretty much what I imagine in my dreams!
